I don't prefer the gameplay of Uncharted 1 to 2 but I prefer everything else from U1 over U2. Characters, dialog, focus, pacing, plot and narrative structure. Uncharted 2 had far better gameplay and better graphical style. However Drakes Fortune in my opinion had a better original vision and soul than Among Thieves. Both were undoubtable great games though.

This is EXCELLENT news. I'm not a Tomb Raider fan but I'am a Eidos fan and just going down their franchise restart list for the current gen things look good.

Tomb Raider reboot: Check
Deus Ex Reboot: Check
Thief Reboot: Check
New Hitman: ?
New Legacy of Kain: ?

I'd rather have a new Snatcher.

Sounds like a true mature game. I'd love to hear more about this concept if it's true. Whatever Kojima's next project is I hope it's a original IP.

It's ironic but Super Mario World is also my favorite Mario game.

The cover system bit makes me weary. I want to be able to go stealth just like old times. Strangling people then taking their clothes and go about my business.

The cattle prod needs a comeback. In fact there I'm pretty sure there should be more weapons in Human Revo. I mean how cool would it be to see a super super prototype of the dragontooth sword.

Yes do so immediately. The first DE is easily the best video game I've ever played in my life.

It was the best when you're playing with 3 strangers and you get stuck playing Colossus or Storm.

Exactly. It's just like exploitation flicks, while yeah the are often ludicrous and they aren't everyone's cup of tea (I personally love them) not every movie needs to be a There Will be Blood, A clockwork Orange or Requiem for a dream. Variety is the spice of life.

I was going to make a similar comment like this but you nailed it dead on. Heck you didn't even mention the likely high pricing of said theoretical activision console, increasing game development costs and how it would effect 3rd party support for a unproven console. Let alone the current worldwide recession and downward trending game sales as a whole. Suffice to say it would be a terrible gamble.

I wish I could +rep you more than once for your post.

I forgot to mention "they either do or have played on some level". Though I do agree with you to a point on them being like video games, you still need strategies etc. I think playing FF is more akin to like playing FPS's or Fighting games online without the interactivity thing.

I need to try a keeper league with my buddies since we're going into our 4th annual year all playing together. I also need to try a PPR league.

I play fantasy football and you guys have it a bit wrong. It's not really just about stats but it's more about saying "I know more than you about football". Sports isn't directly comparable to video games outside of them both being good forms of entertainment. I can't speak for everyone but the majority of people who love sports actually play the sports themselves on some level.

You see I wouldn't say that either Japanese or English va's for a particular show is better. Personally in english dubbing I can catch nuances and inflections in the dialog compared generally to watching subs. For me english va's do anywhere from a ok job to a great job at representing a character and that's not to say the Jap va's don't do a good job but it comes down to preference. I've seen a handful of subbed episodes of some shows where the subbed version soun...

You know I'm a bit weird in that area. When it comes to anime I prefer dubbed but when it come to international films I couldn't imagine watching them any other way than subtitled. It probably has something to do with me viewing anime in this weird gray area of entertainment between the respect commanded by a film and entertainment from a cartoon. But I do get where Kojima is coming from when he says dubs can diminish the language barrier when it comes to certain things.

Most definitely. I played the demo last year and I was floored by how awesome it was. Point and click adventures are actually one of my secrete favorite genre's.

I'm just hoping the console ports are not too inferior to the PC version. Unfortunately I don't have a capable pc to run DE3. I love the original Deus Ex and I'm really looking forward to this one (I skipped 2).

It seems like you're one of the only ones here who not only read the article but watched the video as well. I agree with you that the industry will adapt in a few years. But at the cost of gamers more than likely. As mentioned in the video the percentage of profitability has gone down significantly not only as the technology has progressed but also the consumer expectations. It was a really interesting show and I'm looking forward to it in the coming weeks.

Soul Reaver on the Dreamcast is still one of my favorite experiences gaming wise of all time. It catapulted me to check into the LoK series which has became my 2nd favorite series of all time.
